GAMAGE A. W. Ltd

Bowie type knife marked on the blade "GAMAGE A. W. Ltd / HOLBORN. Ricasso is stamped "C&C" on a scroll of parchment plus the words"GO-AHEAD". Meaning unknown, perhaps denoting the type on knife? A.W. Gamage was a well known London department store established in 1878. It did not make its own knives, but retailed them from Sheffield cutlers like G. Butler, Singleton and Priestman, Thomas Turner and Saynor. Knife probably made cc.1880-1890.Comes with a leather sheath. 6" Blade. Excellent condition. (NOTE!
