ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL MODEL 1881 CARTRIDGE BOX

U.S. Model 1881 R.I.A. Mc. Keever Third Type, Caliber 45-70 Indian War Cartridge Box. Has a capacity of 20 cartridges in two rows of 10 rounds each. Standard third type, including brass escutcheon on closing tab, top corner staples and a tool compartment. With embossed "US" on the front of the box. The box is stamped with two sets of inspector marks insde; D.A.M. and W.(?).F. Made by Rock Island Arsenal and as such, stamped on the closing tab. Shows very little use. Good honest box in excellent condition.
