PALMER MODEL 1865 BOLT ACTION CARBINE
# NONE. These guns were NOT serial numbered! Cal 50 Rimfire (56-50 Spencer), Single Shot. Standard 20" round barrel. Barrel and furniture blued with casehardened lock and hammer. Gun retains 98% of original blue and 95% of its original case colour on frame, barrel band and hammer!. Walnut stock with inspector cartouche "MM" (Michael Moulton). Inspector initials "RFS" on left side of barrel. Standard front and rear sight. The Palmer was the "First" bolt action metallic cartridge arm accepted for military use. Made in 1865.
