U.S. MODEL 1859 PERCUSSION REVOLVER CARTRIDGE BOX
Civil War Model 1859 Pistol Cartridge Box. Made from 1861 to 1865. Well marked & stamped on box body with maker H.A. Dingee N.Y. plus letter "Y" (H.A. Dingee was a Government contractor who manufactured many quality leather goods during the Civil War). Size Flap 5 3/4", box body 5 1/8". Carried up tp six-round packets of .36 or .44 cartridges. These boxes saw use in the in the Regular Army and state militia from the Civil War era trough the 1870's. Box in overall excellent condition showing honest usage.
