ROCK ISLAND MODEL 1903 MC KEEVER CARTRIDGE BOX
U.S. Model 1903 R.I.A. Fourth and last Pattern of the Mc.Keever cartridge boxes. Caliber .30/40 Krag-Jorgensen (.30 Government). Has a capacity of 20 rounds in two rows of 10 Cartridges. All of these fourth Pattern McKevver cartridge boxes were made fot the 30/40 Krag ammunition. The Interior of the right of the inner box is stamped with the manufacturer's stamp; ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, and what appears to be regimental markings; 82/12 SEP. Co. Present are also the stamped initials H.E.K. of the militar inspector. The box has four holes on the front and backside. One can only guess why. Otherwise in used ( this box has seen many cartridges!) but very fine condition, a perfect accoutrement for a Krag Rifle or Carbine owner.
