The Herman H. Heiser Saddlery was established in 1856, incorporated in 1916 and remained in business until 1955. To describe the quality of Heiser leather would be very difficult but this sentence says it all; "No Man Ever Lived Long Enough to Wear Out a Heiser Holster"!! This Heiser Buscadero "Fast Draw" rig has a right handed "Mexican Loop" holster. It will fit a Colt S.A. 5 1/2" or 4 3/4" barrel. The belt has 30 loops for 44/40 WCF or 45 ammo. Holster type 454 and Belt 73-32 are stamped with the H. H. Heiser Denver Colo. in an oval maker's mark logo which would date this rig from 1919 through 1955. The holster has two buckled tie-down straps and is equipped with tie-down thongs. A "Mexican Loop" Holster is cut from one piece of leather. Arizona Rangers were the first to try to develop an improved fast-draw version of the Mexican Loop design. A "Buscadero" belt and holster rig combines a carved leather gunbelt with one or two holsters held in place by an elongated slot in the belt. The stitching on this rig is perfect. Excellent condition. Rare!
